Book Review : The Founder's Treadmill

Book Review : The Founder's Treadmill   The Founder’s Treadmill is one of the more practical and honest books I’ve read about entrepreneurship. David Grau Sr. focuses on the hidden reality many founders experience: becoming overwhelmed by the very businesses they built. The book does a great job of identifying the habits and operational mistakes that keep entrepreneurs stuck, while also offering realistic ways to create structure, delegation, and long-term stability. I particularly enjoyed how organized and easy to follow the content was. The self-assessments, operational checkpoints, and reflective exercises encouraged me to think critically about how businesses function behind the scenes. The sections discussing leadership, systems, delegation, and decision-making authority were especially insightful because they highlighted problems many founders ignore until they become overwhelming.  By the end of the book, I felt both informed and motivated. The writing style is clear, p...

Book Review : Wreaking Vengeance: A Joe Erickson Mystery

Book Review : Wreaking Vengeance: A Joe Erickson Mystery   Wreaking Vengeance: A Joe Erickson Mystery by Lynn-Steven Johanson This book is a well-paced thriller that knows how to keep readers hooked without overcomplicating things. From the very first chapter, there is a sense of tension that doesn’t go away. The crime itself is disturbing, but it’s handled in a way that focuses more on the mystery than unnecessary details. I appreciated that balance because it made the story intense but still easy to read. The strongest part for me was the investigation. It felt realistic, especially how the detectives struggle with the lack of evidence. There are moments where it seems like they are going nowhere, which made the final breakthrough feel even more rewarding. When the connection between the victims is revealed, it all clicks into place in a very satisfying way. It’s a thoughtful mystery that keeps you engaged from start to finish.

The Secret Lives of Doyenne of Didsbrook

Book Review - The Secret Lives of Doyenne of Didsbrook Title - The Secret Lives of Doyenne of Didsbrook Author - Tessa Barrie Rating - 5/5 This is a captivating read that hooked my attention from the first page itself. The story begins with the shocking death of Jocelyn Robertshaw, a beloved former actress and bestselling author whose presence seems to have shaped the entire village of Didsbrook. From the very first chapters, I was drawn into the mystery surrounding her death. While the police quickly lean toward suicide, Lucy Fothergill, Jocelyn’s young protégé is convinced otherwise, and honestly, I found myself agreeing with her almost immediately. Lucy feels relatable, curious, and determined without being overly dramatic. Her emotional connection to Jocelyn makes the investigation feel personal, which kept me invested not only in solving the mystery but also in uncovering who Jocelyn really was behind her polished public image. What stood out most to me was the setting. The contra...

Book Review : Citizen's Awakening

Image
Book Review : Citizen's Awakening  This novel is a compelling blend of family-centered storytelling and political suspense set in a near-future America. The novel begins with a comforting look into Kat Holt’s life, her close-knit family, her love for dog shows, and the excitement of expecting triplets.  As the story progresses, the tone shifts dramatically with the introduction of a government mandate requiring genetic testing for pregnant women. Holgate builds tension through Senator Rockford’s character, whose seemingly reasonable public stance slowly reveals deeper, more unsettling implications. The narrative raises important questions about control, ethics, and the limits of governmental authority over individual lives. Kat’s determination to protect her unborn children, combined with Damon’s internal struggles, creates a powerful human element within the larger political conflict. This novel is ideal for readers who enjoy thought-provoking thrillers that balance suspense ...
