Book Review : Citizen's Awakening

Book Review : Citizen's Awakening

This novel is a compelling blend of family-centered storytelling and political suspense set in a near-future America. The novel begins with a comforting look into Kat Holt’s life, her close-knit family, her love for dog shows, and the excitement of expecting triplets.

As the story progresses, the tone shifts dramatically with the introduction of a government mandate requiring genetic testing for pregnant women. Holgate builds tension through Senator Rockford’s character, whose seemingly reasonable public stance slowly reveals deeper, more unsettling implications. The narrative raises important questions about control, ethics, and the limits of governmental authority over individual lives.

Kat’s determination to protect her unborn children, combined with Damon’s internal struggles, creates a powerful human element within the larger political conflict. This novel is ideal for readers who enjoy thought-provoking thrillers that balance suspense with heartfelt character development. I am impressed with the author's work in this book. Can't wait to get my hands on her next book in the near future.
