Book Review : Wreaking Vengeance: A Joe Erickson Mystery

Wreaking Vengeance: A Joe Erickson Mystery by Lynn-Steven Johanson

This book is a well-paced thriller that knows how to keep readers hooked without overcomplicating things. From the very first chapter, there is a sense of tension that doesn’t go away. The crime itself is disturbing, but it’s handled in a way that focuses more on the mystery than unnecessary details. I appreciated that balance because it made the story intense but still easy to read.

The strongest part for me was the investigation. It felt realistic, especially how the detectives struggle with the lack of evidence. There are moments where it seems like they are going nowhere, which made the final breakthrough feel even more rewarding. When the connection between the victims is revealed, it all clicks into place in a very satisfying way. It’s a thoughtful mystery that keeps you engaged from start to finish.
